Howl at the Moon – Official Movember Party Venue
Movember is an annual charity event held during November. Come to Howl at the Moon in the first week of Movember and have your pre-MO photo taken, then cultivate your Mo throughout the month. The big party is on Saturday 29th Movember from 7pm till late…
There is no cover charge, and heaps of prizes for the best Mo Bro and Mo Sista. (While growing a Mo is left to the guys, Mo Sistas (ladies who support their guys or just love Mo’s!) form an important part of Movember by recruiting Mo Bros, helping to raise funds and attending the highly anticipated Gala Partés.)
About Movember
Movember is an Australian based registered charitable organisation that runs the Movember event each year in partnership with the leading prostate cancer foundation in many countries. Since its inception three years ago Movember has raised over $30 million and has had a significant impact on the state of men’s health.
Here’s how the Movember Event works:
At the start of Movember, guys register with a clean shaven face. The Movember participants, known as Mo Bros, have the remainder of the month to grow and groom their Mo, raising money along the way to benefit men’s health.
Movember culminates at the end of the month at official Gala Partés, Mo-Office and Mo-Town parties where Tom Selleck and Borat look-a-likes battle it out for their chance to be the Man of Movember.
Howl at the Moon is very proud to be the Official Movember Party Venue in Singapore this year.
To register as a solo entrant or as a team simply go to the official website www.movember.com
More on the Big Movember Party (29th November 2008)
The World’s Greatest Duelling Piano Show will be on from 8pm till 2am playing all your favourite MO-tunes. Dress code for the event is MO-tastic! Pick an outfit that suits your Mo. 70′s Glam always seems to fit the bill, but we have seen some very scary variations in the past!!
But it’s not all fun and games, so why the extreme behaviour?
Which ever way we look at it, men are far less healthy than women. The average life expectancy for men is five years less than for women
The obvious question is why?
Men lack awareness about the very real health issues they face. There is an attitude that they have to be tough – “a real man” – and are reluctant to see a doctor about an illness or go for regular medical checks.
Movember aims to change these attitudes and make men’s health fun by putting the Mo back on the face of fashion and in the process raise some serious funds for key men’s health issues.
