Nickeldime at Greenwood Ave (Bukit Timah)
Located off the beaten path in Bukit Timah, Nickeldime was designed as a getaway for the thirsty scholar seeking a new adventure. Wander in and you’ll find yourself transported to a world where east meets west, old meets new…
The décor is a distinct contrast of textural, visual, and cultural elements. Even the music is carefully selected to provide the blend (in every sense) of something fresh with something familiar.
The Nickeldime Philosophy – “Thoughtful Drinking”
The people behind Nickeldime have always had great respect for the art of the winemaker, brewer and distiller; it is their belief that appreciation for the craft and the harmonious final product can only be reached through understanding. Nickeldime was conceived as a gathering place for friends to pursue their curiosity together without judgment or pretension. In this main, they choose to carry a selection that depicts the spread of various techniques across cultures and continents.
Bottle Shop & Tasting Room
Nickeldime‘s Bottle Shop & Tasting Room was born from the idea that everyone should have access to great wine. Its selection focuses on wines from California as well as a select amount of wines from both the new world and old world. Nickeldime continually seek to evolve a list of wines that presents great value and drink above their price-point. Great value doesn’t necessarily mean cheap, but simply uncompromised value for money.
From the neophyte just stepping into the world of whisky, to the seasoned expert searching for a new addition, Nickeldime’s whisky selection offers something for everyone. Beyond the classic scotches, the list includes single malts from Japan and small allocation bourbons from the United States.
Its staff will advise and recommend people on the drinking and how a particular libation should be consumed; however, Nickeldime believe, at the end of the day, people should drink what they like, how they like. That should never change.
Artisan Bar
Nickeldime offers Singaporeans their first look into a craft bar with infusion cocktails and a carefully selected rotating list of wine, whisky, and sake. The entire concept is based on the everevolving fusion of east and west. This juxtaposition of ideals and a focus on thoughtful drinking encompasses what Nickeldime is all about.
Infused cocktails are made with only the freshest ingredients—including pear, watermelon, ginger and earl grey tea leaves. Sakes are specially chosen to highlight the clean, balanced structure of Japan’s traditional taste. From the Suntory “Hakushu” 18yr. to the Woodford Reserve, Nickeldime brings a novel perspective to sipping whiskies from around the world.
A tasty tapa-esque menu awaits those looking for light fare that compliments their libation of choice, but doesn’t leave them starving or their wallet compromised. From the Double Tiger Prawns to Nickeldime’s California-inspired garlic fries, each home-style dish is designed to share amongst friends, family, and acquaintances alike.
At the heart of it all, Nickeldime is the “home away from home” — taking those who seek respite from the bustle of a big city and desire good company with quality drinks on an unpretentious journey of merry drinking.
