Fashion will marry Music as multi-talented Hong Kong celebrity DJ/actor/musician/Subcrew label-owner, Sam Lee, launches the specially designed, limited edition DJ BeCareful caps and wows the Singapore audience with a one night only showcase of his disc jockeying flair on 11 April 2009, Saturday, REBEL Boutique Club at The Cannery, Clarke Quay. Doors open at 9.30pm.

Fashion-conscious fans will be greeted with a visual merchandising display of the 100 limited edition DJ BeCareful caps as they step into Rebel. Retail therapy will complete the experience, as each cap is available for sale on the same night at S$75 nett.

TAKING THE UNCONVENTIONAL PATH

Stumbling into the world of acting by accident, much like a Hollywood dream come true, Sam Lee was talent spotted in 1997 and cast in his first film Made In Hong Kong, which saw him take home several Hong Kong film awards in 1998 including Best Newcomer Award, and nomination for Best Actor Award in Taiwan’s Golden Horse Awards.

Off screen, Sam Lee is the godfather of Chinese hip-hop music, where he raps as a member of the metal/hip-hop band LMF (Lazy Mutha Fucka). The band was regarded as the very first band which popularized hip-hop and rap music in Hong Kong, and attained phenomenal success in Hong Kong. Since then, the band has generated a cult following, with Sam Lee successfully integrating both his musical and acting talents through song contributions from LMF for several of his movies.

With his strong understanding of local culture and fashion, Sam diversified his talents and branched out to create SUBCREW, a street fashion brand with the voice of authority and influence in street culture and chic fashion. This cult label has drawn a devoted following and is now available in cosmopolitan cities such as Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Beijing and Shanghai.

Sam’s love in music made him enter the world of DJ-ing, and he has been showcasing his impressive spinning techniques in Guangzhou, Zhuhai, Wuhan, Nanjing, Austrailia, Taiwan and Macau. Fans can expect to see him spinning his break beat music in more places soon.
