Yello Jello Launches Sunday Jammin Sessions With LaSalle

Start:
February 28, 2010
Venue:
Yello Jello
Address:
Singapore

With the recent revamp of Yello Jello evolving into a good old 80s-to-contemporary pop rock music bar with its new resident band John Molina & Krueger, Yello Jello is set to rock and roll with more music initiatives to bring music aficionados under one roof – in collaboration with LaSalle College of the Arts.

Starting 28 February 2010 through till April 2010, LaSalle students will get a chance to perform every Sunday at 6pm at Yello Jello’s Sunday Jammin’ Sessions, as part of their curriculum. Three to four bands will play every Sunday to a live audience, and their performance at the jamming sessions will be graded by a panel of judges comprising of LifeBrandz’s representative and LaSalle’s course director/lecturer. Guest bands and judges will also be invited from time to time to be part of this joint effort.

“We are very pleased to have this collaboration with LifeBrandz to offer our students a live performance experience and opportunity to showcase their flair and talents at a popular entertainment outlet like Yello Jello. We hope that this initiative will provide the platform to encourage more budding and aspiring young talents to step up so that there is constant new blood in the local music industry”, said Mr Harris Jahim, Program Leader Performing Arts Foundation, LASALLE College of the Arts.

In addition to the performance opportunity, LaSalle students will also be offered special discounts on drinks at Yello Jello – all LaSalle students will enjoy a 30% discount off housepour beer, housepour spirits, juices and soft drinks upon flashing their student passes to the Yello Jello floor staff.

“With the revamp of Yello Jello into a classic live band venue, we are also providing a creative architecture for music lovers to band together under one roof to perform and to enjoy the spontaneity of live performance. We hope that this initiative will spearhead more opportunities to shape the local music scene into a more colourful and vibrant one with the discovery of hidden, unexplored musical gems in our midst,” said Mr. Bernard Lim, Chief Executive Officer, LifeBrandz.
