Bobbi’s Pole Studio Singapore (BPSS) continues to make waves within the local pole dance community as it brings the internationally-renown Miss Pole Dance competition to Singapore’s shores for the very first time. The inaugural Miss Pole Dance Singapore will be part of a chain of prestigious pole dance competitions that take place worldwide on an annual basis.

The heats for Miss Pole Dance Singapore will take place on Saturday 31 July 2010, with the finals hosted by popular nightspot dbl O – co-organizers of the competition – on Sunday 8 August 2010 from 7.00PM to 10.30PM.

Winners of the solo and group categories stand to win S$2,000 and S$3,000 worth of prizes respectively.

Spectators of the competition will also be in for a treat as they enjoy exclusive performances including an opening number by Kim and Chilli, professional pole dancers hailing from Bobbi’s Pole Studio Australia. Bobbi herself, founder of the Bobbi’s Pole Studio chain, will also be performing in the opening. BPSS will also be bringing in transgender Maxi Shield, mascot of Miss Pole Dance Australia and Emcee of the competition since 2006.

Founder of the Bobbi’s Pole Studio chain, Bobbi, is also credited with starting Miss Pole Dance Australia in 2005. The competition’s audience has grown from 600 to 2,000 last year, and has garnered the most Youtube hits amongst Pole Dance competitions in the world.

The Miss Pole Dance competitions are fast gaining popularity and recognition worldwide, with more than 6 major countries hosting them annually, spearheaded by the UK, Australia, Canada and Holland. Regarded as representing the global elite in pole sport fitness, Miss Pole Dance sets international standards in pole dancing and pole fitness. Pole dance enthusiasts aim to use Miss Pole Dance competition as a global platform to change misconceptions and prejudices about pole dancing and to promote it as a fitness routine, sport and an incredibly unique art form.
