Face Off Feat. Lo-Fi + Zirca Residents at Zirca
Next up to accept Zirca’s invition to join us in our vision of peace and eradication of crushed souls in the digital age: LO-FI
As the legend goes – Genre-defying LO-FI knows no limits. From Electro to House and back, Ming and Kian never fails to get ‘em rocking for those who like to keep current. Claiming to pack enough bullets to fight a miniature-sized war, in response – ZIRCA residents (Marcus & Inquisitive) declare “Why Can’t We Be Friends?” May peace befall on Z-dance floor.
Ming
Resident at HOME CLUB, DJ/Producer Ming has fronted the LO-FI team since its inception in August 2008. With a DJ career spanning over half a decade, he has fast risen to be one of the most talented and versatile artists behind the decks. Known as the bass-whizz of Home Club, his signature sound of low frequencies, rolling breaks, and jazzy synths, is translated across all genres, be it house, drum and bass, or techno.
After numerous collaborations with Clash The Disko Kids, Ming has accumulated an arsenal of remixes, re-edits and original tracks, including ‘Midget Gems’ released in late 2009. Now busy working solo in the studio, watch out for his debut EP at the end of the year.
Kian
Kian.C, lovingly dubbed ‘everybody’s favourite first runner-up’ among his friends due to his twice-running title at two consecutive JUICE DJ Quest competitions, burst into the scene with his first public appearance behind the console at the 2008 Pioneer DJ Battle. But don’t let his pet moniker fool you – the selftaught Kian, with his uniquely infectious blend of House, Electro, Nu-Disco and Techno, has already caught the eyes (or ears, to be precise) of many of the who’s who in the scene. Honing his craft has always remained the numero uno priority for Kian. His current muses are a broad spectrum, ranging from the ever popular Daft Punk and Justice, to the slightly mellower Paul Kalkbrenner and Popof. Like a mix of Rojak done right, Kian serves multi-genre dishes which both surprises and enlivens – think an amalgamation of deep, smooth and sexy sounds with a generous sexy sounds with a generous topping of bass.
