Singapore’s more glamourous club, Stereolab and its adjoining bar Stereolounge, will be reinventing its physical space and programming before its 2nd anniversary in July 2011.

Some of the main changes will include enhanced décor, a tighter dance floor, elevated dance spaces as well as a wider array of seating options that will cater to a variety of party options and corporate events.

Anticipating partygoers can celebrate the new and improved Stereolab on Friday, 17th June 2011 with a bash that focuses on the club’s versatile line-up of resident DJs Stephen Day, J-styles and An Isma.

A Change of Direction
Besides an aesthetic makeover, the management will reveal a new direction in programming, image and pricing with a nett pricing structure initiated into the system.

Yuan Oeij, Director of The Privé Group that owns and operates the nightspot, explains, “Keeping our prices competitive is an important element of our change in direction. The shift to nett prices will ensure that guests get premium products we have at better value.”

Stereolab is the first club in Singapore to have premium labels such as Smirnoff Black as a housepour.

Since its inception, Stereolab has hosted a series of exclusive parties like the Opening Party of Art Stage Singapore, the Official Audi Fashion Festival After Parties as well as the world’s first and only Official Formula One Lounge that was later renamed to become The Official Lounge.

“Since Stereolab’s entry into Singapore nightlife, it has evolved organically with the wants and needs of the market, but only on a superficial level” said Michel Lu, Executive Director “We decided it was time to take that one step further, to ensure our guests have an event better time.”

The club now focuses on jump-up party music from up-and-coming DJs including the likes of Miss Nine (Yoshi Toshi Records), Dirty Dutch star Quintino (SuperSoniQ Records) as well as burgeoning trance superstars Super8 & Tab (Anjunabeats). Superstar DJs will be featured periodically, such as the recent events featuring Kenny ‘Dope’ of the legendary outfit Masters at Work and Boy George.

Weekly programming will focus strictly on Stereolounge, with the attractive Happy Hour and bottle promotions available. Ladies Night on Wednesdays will see a huge boost with the debut of Singapore’s premiere hiphop DJ Titus helming the decks from the 22nd of June onwards.

Stereolab is TWO!
Critic favourite Jamie xx from acclaimed UK band The xx will make his DJ debut on Thursday 28th July 2011, exactly two years to the day Stereolab first opened its doors to the anticipating public. Details on the actual anniversary bash will be released shortly.
