PRESENTING THE ZOUKOUT 2012 GIRL – KYLIE NICOLE TAN

Meet Kylie, she’s 19 years old, a freelance model and currently in the final year of her Diploma in Interior Architecture & Design at Temasek Polytechnic’s Design School.

She’s also the proud winner of the first ever Search for the ZoukOut 2012 Girl, beating more than 70 other shortlisted candidates! Kylie took part in the casting as she felt that it could be a stepping-stone in her modeling career if she were to win and with her striking looks, we dare say she’s right!

While Kylie enjoys chilling out with her friends and embarking on food escapades, she also considers Zouk to be her second home, as “the music and the atmosphere there is just simply amazing and to me, it is the #1 club in Singapore.” She’s got an equal amount of love for ZoukOut too! She tells us, “ last year was my first ZoukOut and I had a ball of a time there as I got to catch a few of my favourite DJs. ZoukOut is definitely the place to be every year, it is THE music festival that ends off the year with a huge bang.”

With this lovely lass fronting our global ZoukOut campaign, we’re sure she’s going to be a massive hit at ZoukOut itself! Watch this space and watch this face, we’re quite sure there’re big things in store for this young lady!

ZOUKOUT GOES GREEN!

“ZoukOut has a tremendous outreach and the Singapore Environment Council would like to commend the organisers for taking a bold green step with this eye-catching art installation, which is meaningful and will have tremendous impact on party-goers, who will further understand the need to conserve resources and be mindful of where they dispose of their waste.

ZoukOut 2012 looks set to heighten awareness of environmental conservation, which will in turn serve as a fundamental step in driving action.”
– Mr Jose Raymond, Executive Director of the Singapore Environment Council

An Upcycled Photo Op like no other!

We’ve hooked up with our friends at homegrown company, ARTSYFACT, to share an important environmental message! As you enter the festival grounds, make your way to the striking “Photo Op” that’s been created by our friends and take not just photos but also take away some important lessons about why the environment is everybody’s responsibility. A heavy topic indeed but think about it, if the environment’s in bad shape, there won’t be any ZoukOut to speak of! And that, surely, is a disaster!

ARTSYFACT x ZOUKOUT
ARTSYFACT has been tasked to produce art installation pieces that are both functional and conscientious at this year’s ZoukOut. Expect to see the theme (“The Surreal Seaside”) brought to life through used materials that have already outlived its purpose or are about to be recycled so that no additional waste is created.

A photo-booth area will be the highlight at the entryway as they showcase the story of the ocean made entirely from upcycled materials. It’s going to be profile pic worthy but more importantly, it’s going to send an eye-opening message about the impact of our waste on marine life.

The resting areas will also mimic the surreal theme that is associated with this year’s ZoukOut. Although comfortable and functional, the custom-made furniture will be designed to allow ease of assembly, tear down and yet remain recyclable again at the end of the event.

Through these thoughtfully crafted creative pieces, ZoukOut and ARTSYFACT hope to reduce waste, minimise impact and remind the public that every little bit counts in preserving the environment.

OFFICIAL FESTIVAL MERCHANDISE!

ZoukOut wouldn’t be ZoukOut without its awesome merchandise!
