Hospitality presents Netsky BEL
& High Contrast UK SG DEBUT!
With Ming

Fri 4 January
Zouk

2013 brings us two of Hospital Records’ biggest signees in the form of Drum and Bass heavyweights, Netsky and High Contrast. Since the release of his 2002 debut, True Colours, High Contrast has been racking up classics like ‘Return of Forever’, ‘Global Love’ and ‘If We Ever’ to his name. Having bagged BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix of the Year and scored remixes for the likes of Utah Saint, Adele and Eric Prydz, the Welsh DJproducer has also gone on to tour at the Electric Daisy Carnival, Coachella and Global Gathering, proving his mettle to audiences wide and varied.

And hailing from Belgium is Netsky, the wunderkind whose swift breakthrough into the bass circuit got him named Best Upcoming Producer at the Drum & Bass Arena Awards 2008. His first release on Hospital was the iconic ‘Memory Lane’, which was followed up by his chart topping self-titled debut album. Netsky has since been known for his blend of uplifting, melancholic melodies and heavy dancefloor beats, roping in remixes for Rusko, Pendulum, Swedish House Mafia and more, establishing himself as one of Belgium’s hottest Drum and Bass exports.

Midnight Shift x Zouk
01-13 Άλφα: ALPHA

Sat 26 December
10pm – late
Velvet Underground – Dance

International Mystery Guest 10
Angela Flame

Mislav (Burek, Mugic Soundsystem)
Ming

+
Visuals: Avneesh VS Burrows

Host: Kevin Kester

The end. A new inscription begins. Midnight Shift kicks off a fourth year of existence by going back to the first ancestral letter: ALPHA. Held in the cavernous confines of Velvet Underground-Dance, the night casts a new stone in electronic waters, presenting a tribe of music mavens, hunters and gatherers from different corners, brought together in séance for one night out of time.

Zouk resident and young warrior Ming raises the first call, writing the first sentence in the yearbook with his distinctive mixing style and hard-hitting selections. Singapore-based Croatian, Mislav (Burek, Mugic Soundsystem), will be up next to podium, traversing a wide musical repertoire consisting of an uncompromising mixture of electric funk, old school electro, house/techno hybrids, disco, various leftfield and obscure disco/punk/nu wave oddities to open minds and ears.

Singapore’s first doyenne of dance and techno provocateur Angela Flame will grace the proceedings next with her exquisite taste and veteran experience coming forth while played Live – dark, deep, sensual and tough.

From 2am, our first International Mystery Guest of the year comes through. First discovered at the tender age of 15 and breaking through while still only 23, this British boy’s rougharound- the-edges brand of classical industrial and classic techno has already caught up with most. Midnight Shift is honoured to be in the growth chart of this talent in house as he performs a full hardware and vinyl show. Casting visual shadows on the wall will be VJs Avneesh and Burrows back to back, while favourite host Kevin Lester of SIXX will narrate the stories of the night yet to unfold.
