New Zealand痴 super premium 42 Below Vodka, has teamed up with Singapore痴 Forbidden City to develop Singapore痴 first authentic Ice Bar, aptly named The Ice Palace... Sign in and click Read more... 典he Ice Palace fits with the bold and stunning ambience of Bar Cocoon, Forbidden City. It was originally a room in the Forbidden City where the Emperors sent his unwanted concubines・ said Forbidden City founder Mike Ma adding that the current Ice Palace serves a slightly different purpose.

With an extreme conditioned, temperature-controlled unit, the bar boasts running temperatures of ・5 degrees Celsius, making it Singapore痴 largest and coldest ice bar.

The hand-sculpted bar in Bar Cocoon is hosted inside a 16 ス foot x 12 ス foot structure which is reinforced with triple-glazed, safety glass, specially designed to withstand extreme conditions. The glass is filled with a unique nitric-oxide system designed to minimize condensation and contain temperatures and an ambience that suits an ice bar ・traditionally serving only vodka and running at extreme temperatures making it impossible to serve beverages like beer and wine.

The frozen interior, including tables, bartop and vodka glasses, is constructed entirely from ice and the floor is packed tight with freshly harvested snow. Guests are provided with specially designed fur jackets and gloves on arrival and enter through an air-locked doorway to prevent cold air escaping.

As drinking at extreme temperatures is different from drinking in room guests are only allowed to remain for a limited amount of time and are closely monitored by trained bar staff at all times. Guests can expect drinks specially designed for extreme temperatures by 42 Below痴 full time drinks mixologists ・barmen who stand around all day coming up with new drink combinations・nd get paid for it.
