Due to open its doors in the last quarter of 2006, St James Power Station is the new destination must-go for those in search of a refreshing entertainment complex like none other in the region. Nine distinctive outlets of live entertainment and music styles will be unleashed in this 60,000 sq ft of seaside space, located in the premise of Singapore?s first coal-fired power station built in 1927. It is situated at the alluring HarbourFront precinct next to VivoCity, the largest retail and lifestyle complex in Singapore, which will also open in the last quarter of 2006.

Dragonfly (NOW OPEN)
Dragonfly is the shining example of stylish Mandarin pop entertainment, set in an ultra elegant clubbing space. Featuring resident bands Puzzle and Queen.
Dress Code: Smart casual
Age limit: 18 Ladies, 23 Guys
Opening Hours: 6pm - 6am nightly
Happy Hours: 6pm - 9pm (1 for 1 for all drinks and 20% off bottles of spirits, wine & champagne)
Show time starts at 7pm

Gallery Bar (NOW OPEN)
Gallery Bar is nested on the 2nd Floor of St James Power Station(accessible by Bellini Room) provides you with a bird's eye view of Dragonfly, Movida and Powerhouse.
Mono (NOW OPEN)
Mono is a place for great tunes and those who love to sing them in an open bar and ten unique themed rooms. Mono is located on the second and third floor - take the spiral staircase from Dragonfly.

The highlight for me was the resident jazz band and singer, the Bellini Room Band. A 7 piece band of mainly local jazz artists, it's led by a very strong music director, keyboardist and singer...

The Gallery Bar next door is good for chilling out without missing the action. With full-length glass windows along both sides of the corridor, and you can watch the action in Movida on one side, and Dragonfly on the other...

The Belllini Room feels like a luxurious lounge, with stripes and floral wallpaper. I especially liked the wall lined with Belvedere vodka bottles. The band and singer were good, playing a mix of jazz and blues...

We decided to check out Movida instead, which turned out to be a smarter choice. They had a 8-pax Cuban band that belted out song after song, full of exciting and invigorating beats that made everyone rushed to the dance floor...
